When I launched this newsletter last month, I shared a survey to better understand the layoff landscape.
Hundreds of submissions later, I learned a lot: For one, a lot of people didn’t receive any severance, or got just a few weeks. Almost everyone’s relationship to work changed after being laid off. And “ominous meetings” were a sign many people said to look out for if you’re playing layoff detective.
You can read the full findings here.
Transparency around layoffs can help us all feel a little less alone, but it can also spark important conversations that can lead to change.
I want to go even deeper on the data and trends around layoffs, so I’m creating the first Laid Off Trend Report for newsletter readers.
Which means… I need some data. That’s where you come in.
If you’ve ever been laid off, please consider taking the survey.
And pass it on.
Layoffs suck, but they’re not going anywhere. My hope is the Laid Off Trend Report can empower us all with some insights to better advocate for ourselves and what we deserve.
Stay tuned.
